Right. But the effect is that China is rattled because it was aimed as a shot across its bow. It is being interpreted in Beijing as a hostile move to control China, along with the recent arms sales to Taiwan. US-China relations are deteriorating rather than improving.

No doubt. And economics factor significantly into the history of war.

No no no.

China wants USA to invade Iran but leave no tracks as to suggest that China favors that.

China wants USA cow to spend and buy China crap and during war time it is better as shown by last 10 years.

A bunch of posturing.

Obama Nobel Peace Prize winner will either stem the tide, or he will be pushed out so that war with Iran will happen with new Republican presdient.

So truly Libertarian anti-war pundits would have to settle with Obama since the Republicans would create war faster than Obama

The real issue here is the internal power structure of the US, Iran, and China, where policy and decisions are made. The recent cooling of relations pushes the ball into the court of the hardliners in each of these countries and bolsters their argument for military ramp up. In the US, the hardliners have been pressing for war with Iran for some time, and the military-industrial complex is taking every advantage available to it to encourage a Cold War with China. The Iranian and Chinese military are deeply suspicious of US intent and preparing for eventual war.
