Kevin Drum — Helping the Poor is Now Apparently Anti-Bible

...while I might not be an expert in the Bible, I've read enough to know that Jesus sure didn't seem to think that helping the poor robbed them of dignity. Can someone help me out here? What part of the gospels do you think [Rev. Rick] Warren is referring to?

Certainly not Matthew 25:31-46.

Sounds like Rick Warren supports the MMT Job Guaranty aka (in the Hebrew Scriptures) 'the allotment of the land' under the Mosaic law.

If he supports 'a tithe' and/or a ban on so-called 'gay marriage' (which I'm SURE he does in his typical modern Christendom Mosaic Law thinking ways), which were just parts of the law, then to not be a hypocrite, he should support the JG part also.

It would be interesting to see what he would say about a JG if you could press him on it.

I would not bet against his initial reaction to it as "taxpayer on the hook!".

Indeed here is a quote from him at the ABC story: "I hold the government that got themselves in debt."

ie Warren: "WE'RE A DEBTOR NATION!"... sadly, here's another one for the "M" column.
