DHS has already purchased over 1 BILLION rounds of ammo!

The Department of Homeland Security has made another HUGE ammo buy, putting it over 1 BILLION rounds. This is the Department of HOMELAND security. Who are they protecting us against? Ourselves?

I think that the coordinated militarized crack down on Occupy has removed any doubts about the US having become a police state. It is also becoming a surveillance state as well. Both on proportions that dwarf anything seen previously.

Gives Margaret Thatcher's TINA (there is no alternative) new meaning. When you can't dupe the rubes, then suppress them with whatever force may be required.

Over the weekend NYPD shot and killed a guy in broad daylight in Times Square, while it was packed with tourists. The guy was carrying a knife, but did not stab or attack anyone. The video shows at least 30 cops surrounding this guy. They couldn't disarm him without the use of lethal force? During Occupy last year, there were, like, 50 militarized cops on every peaceful protester and they were smashing heads with their batons. Brave police...yeah, right. NYPD just does anything it wants now.

Well for what its worth… the employees of DHS, who are quite abundant here, have been known to sell/give away mostly full but partially used boxes of ammunition. The impression you get is of an over abundance of the stuff, it's treated as more common than paperclips.

Anon,

Sounds like military Keynesism for the ammo manufacturers...

Was democracy supposed to result in something better?
