Tyler Cowen — The endgame of Communist rule in China?

I rather rarely agree with Tyler Cowen but I think he has this right about the Chinese political situation, even though it runs counter to his Libertarian bias.

I would say something similar is true for Putin's Russia.

The economic condition or both Chinese and Russian workers has generally improved over the past twenty years, where the economic condition of American, Brit and European workers has declined. The likelihood of either a liberal internal coup or external revolution are low in both countries.

Whatever, it's good that economists are paying attention to the geopolitical in addition to doing econometrics and pushing their ideological biases.
