Robert Parry — Obama’s Deadly Cold War Legacy

President Obama is endangering his legacy by letting neoconservatives still set his foreign policy, including the creation of a new and costly Cold War with Russia that could have been easily avoided and that now risks spinning off into a nuclear showdown, writes Robert Parry.
G. W. Bush's decision to attack Iraq is regarded as perhaps the worst strategic moves the US has ever made. Not to be outdone. Barack Obama is out to top it along with the pivot to Asia to confront China.

As far as the US military is concerned, it's comparable to the stupidity of the German High Command of the Reichswehr to throw in with Hitler and then not to remove him when it was clear that he was losing.

These are monumental blunders with far-reaching consequences.
