Putin takes advantage of Obama-Netanyahu rift

Looks like Putin is taking advantage of the Obama-Netanyahu rift. The Israeli Prime Minister met with Putin last month and described relations between the two countries as "good."

Netanyahu, in an interview recorded for broadcast on Sunday on "CNN's Fareed Zakaria GPS," did not join the United States and other NATO nations in criticizing Russia's taking military action in Syria.
"We don't want to go back to the days when, you know, Russia and Israel were in an adversarial position," said Netanyahu, who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow late last month. "I think we've changed the relationship. And it's, on the whole, good." Read more.

Remember when Obama was elected and how he promised to repair America's relations with the rest of the world? How's that going?

Yea, I'm sure Bibi is thrilled with Czar Vald signing onto the Iran deal and now propping up President Thug Assad. Just like any broken romance, when Obama told Bibi that "we're just not all that into you any more," dumpee Bibi has to cast around for some new hook-ups - those tend to be the ones you later regret for the rest of your life.

And another brilliant move by Czar Vald. After bringing NATO to Russia's border (cue Stalin rolling in his grave), he's decided to do a combo repeat of 1980s Afghanistan and 1990s Chechnya - I wonder how long before the apartment/metro explosions in Moscow by ISIL (or will it be Vald?) start up.

Yea, there are some countries, and even a lot of US nitwits, not happy about it, but most people are pretty grateful to finally have an adult in the White House.

Vald, Bibi - you go girls!

How do you repair relations with a deranged extremist like Netantyahu? You can't and you don't attempt to. The US has more important interests in the region than picking up the rattle that Netanyahu has thrown out of his pram. The US is the boss and sometimes it has to read the riot act. That was what Obama did and what any competent President would have done. Eisenhower nearly crushed Israel for stepping out of line over Suez: the threats were extremely serious and Israel backed down so fast it was embarrassing, which was part of Eisenhower's aim. Bush Snr did it again when Israel was fucking up US shit during the first Gulf War. Clinton did it later. Now Obama's done it.

The capo di tutti capi has to keep the rest of the gangs in line. That's what US Presidents do. Kissinger called it the "overall framework of order". The US is at the top and is responsible for the "overall framework" of how the world is run. If someone gets out of line, then they need to be brought back in line. Netanyahu is making life difficult for the grander US policy in the region. The US has bigger interests than keeping a loudmouth extremist happy. All that aid, loan guarantees, US military hardware and access to US intelligence and all the rest of the paraphernalia comes with one string attached: do as your told, or all the freebies that keep your bankrupt economy and military afloat will end. Don't fuck with the boss, and the boss won't fuck with you. End of story.

The Oval Office is reserved for people who know how to protect US interests, not flush all this hard earned power down the toilet by supporting a maniac who wants to recreate a mythical land based on the writings of people from the bronze age.

love seeing you useful idiots come out of the woodwork chastising our most important ally in the region. Your hatred of Israel supersedes any common sense in supporting democracy and human rights.

Thanks for that blast from the past! That used to said about apartheid South Africa, with exactly the same veracity. Anyway, by your standard, that makes you an anti-American by taking sides against America.
